The score is the least valuable thing a mock produces. The script is a specific diagnosis of exactly where your marks go, arriving while there is still time to act. Almost everyone keeps the number and throws away the diagnosis.
There is a document saying exactly what earns marks in your exam, and most candidates never look at one. Not model answers, something better: the rules the examiner follows when deciding whether your sentence scores.
Two candidates know the same thing. One writes three marks worth, the other seven. The difference is the first word of the question. Command words are instructions, and they tell you how much to write and where the marks are.
Most candidates have never actually read their syllabus. It is the contract: it says what can be asked and what cannot. Revising from notes means revising what someone chose to teach, not what the examiner is allowed to ask.
You cannot revise towards a number that does not exist yet. Stop asking what score you need and start asking how to finish as far up the ranking as possible. Coverage, speed and accuracy, in that order, and why rank is won on the easy marks.
