Everythx explains how school, qualifications and work actually function. How long a degree really takes. What a credit hour is. Whether a certificate is worth the money. How to get into a university in another country. We write the plain, checkable version of things that are usually explained badly or not at all.

Why this site exists

Most of the internet’s education advice falls into two piles. One is written by institutions that need you to enrol. The other is written by people who have never been near the thing they are describing, and it shows.

Both piles have the same problem: they answer the question you typed, badly, and never the question you actually had. You search “how many credits is an associate degree” and get a number with no explanation of what a credit is, why 60 of them takes two years, or what happens if you only manage nine a semester.

We write the version that answers the real question, shows the arithmetic, and says plainly where the rule changes depending on your country or your institution.

What we cover

• Degrees and credits. How degrees are built: credit hours, semesters, GPA, honours, and how long each level genuinely takes.
• Careers and courses. Which qualification leads where, what training actually costs in time, and which routes are shorter than people assume.
• Study skills. Revision method that survives contact with a real timetable and a real attention span.
• Scholarships and funding. How funding decisions get made, what “fully funded” covers, and how to spot a scam.
• Study abroad and admissions. Applications, personal statements, visas, and the process nobody explains before you are in it.
• Exams across Africa. GCE, WAEC, NECO, JAMB, UNEB, KUCCPS and the Cameroonian concours, written by people who sat them.

How we write

• The answer comes first. If you asked a question, the first paragraph answers it. Everything after that is the reasoning, for readers who want it.
• We show the working. Where a number comes from arithmetic, we do the arithmetic on the page.
• We say what we do not know. Rules differ by country and by institution. Where a figure is typical rather than universal, we say so and tell you where to confirm it.
• We do not invent specifics. No deadlines, fees or cut-off marks unless they are verified against the body that sets them, with the reader told to check at source.
• Nothing is gated. No accounts, no email walls, no “download the full guide”. Every article is complete on the page.

Who writes this

Cyril Bongnyu is the editor. He co-founded eStudyUniverse, a study app used by students preparing for the Cameroon GCE and concours, and has spent several years working on how examination and admission systems are explained to the people sitting them. Articles carry a named author, never a house byline, and the author’s name links to what else they have written.

How this site makes money

Everythx is free to read and is funded by display advertising. Adverts are served by Google AdSense in fixed slots that are marked as advertising and kept out of the body of the article. They do not move when the page loads, and nothing you read has been written to please an advertiser. We do not accept payment for coverage, we do not publish sponsored posts dressed up as articles, and no advertiser sees an article before you do.

Some articles mention the eStudyUniverse app, which the editor co-founded. Where that happens it is stated plainly, and it only appears on topics the app is genuinely relevant to. See our disclaimer.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to know, and it is the message we most want to receive. Write to hello@everythx.com. We check it against the source, fix the article, and note what changed rather than editing the error away quietly.
